In France, SIDA-ENTREPRISES operates at the level of headquarters of member enterprises.
SIDA-ENTREPRISES provides "SIDA-ENTREPRISES focal points", who are in charge of programmes for fighting HIV-AIDS for their respective groups, with "Best Practices Days", that is:
Workshops on methodology
Workshops on methodology aim at defining a common methodology and at providing practical tools for the implementation of programmes for their subsidiaries.
In 2008:
workshop n°1 : obtaining the commitment of Directors of subsidiaries
How to ensure that the DG of a subsidiary becomes committed and remains committed? What is the link between commitment at headquarters’ level and at the level of subsidiaries? What are the means of persuasion? Or even of making it become mandatory?
Workshop n°2: setting-up and operating a committee
How is it structured? How to chair it? And what about training its members?
Workshop n° 3: evaluation
What is a preliminary evaluation? What to do when none is carried-out? What is a «Knowledge, Attitude and Practices» study? What is the purpose of such a study? How is it carried-out?
In 2009:
Workshop n° 4: partnerships
What is a partnership in the framework of a programme for fighting HIV-AIDS within the enterprise ? Why is it important to have a partner? Who are the main partners for developing a programme for fighting HIV-AIDS within the enterprise? When should they be identified? Is it necessary to have one or multiple partners? Is it necessary to create an official partnership?
Workshop n° 5: the Action Plan
What is an Action Plan? Who develops the Action Plan? How does one define the goals? How does one translate these into activities? How does one plan activities over a period of time?
Workshop n° 6: Selecting evaluation indicators
What is an indicator? For monitoring? For evaluation? Quantitative? Qualitative? How many indicators should be developed?
Workshop n° 7: Which monitoring-evaluation document(s)?
Summary of workshops 5 and 6: Draft proposal for (a) document(s) which will enable subsidiaries to monitor and evaluate their programme.
State of Play of programmes within member enterprises
The State of Play aims at making it possible for enterprises to prepare a progress report and at promoting an exchange of experiences on successes and failures.
In 2008, 4 enterprises accepted to be part of this: sanofi-aventis, Société Générale, AGF and Gras Savoye.
In 2009, more enterprises will follow suit.
Training day on « medical and scientific aspects »
The session aims at providing the basic knowledge which is essential for people in charge at headquarters’ level in the medical and psycho-social fields and international trends in the field of fighting HIV-AIDS.
In 2008, 2 days were organised on the following themes:
• Providing scientific and medical knowledge, Dr Jean-Pascal Ducret, sanofi-aventis.
• Psycho-social care and the role of community-based organisations in Africa, Eric Fleutelot, SIDACTION.
• State of Play of actions for fighting AIDS in the workplace: profile of actors, Sophie Stepanoff, SIDA-ENTREPRISES.
In 2009, 2 additional days are to be organised.
